- Complete the full 10-week program (approximately 40 hours per week), with no time off from start to finish (excluding weekends and Lab holidays).
- Workforce Development & Education (WD&E) interns cannot take classes (including online) while participating in the program.
- Complete entrance and exit surveys.
- Students submit a poster and a six- to eight-page paper on their research activities.
- Faculty submit a project report and make an oral presentation
- Attend all scheduled events, including lectures, tours, and group activities.
- Complete all Berkeley Lab safety and procedural requirements.
- Participate in professional scientific meetings.
- Must behave in a responsible and professional manner. Interns must adhere to the Ethics and Conduct at Berkeley Lab Requirements and Policies Manual (RPM).
- When acknowledging WDTS support, please use the following statement: “This work was supported in part by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) under the Visiting Faculty Program (VFP).”
- Complete all assignments and deliverables including intern/mentor photos.
