Lab Education Director Colette Flood has been selected as one of Berkeley Lab’s Women @ The Lab 2020. 15 honorees are selected by the Women Scientists & Engineers Council for their meritorious professional contributions, leadership, mentorship, and outreach. This year, W@TL received 98 nominations for 68 nominees, a significantly greater number than in previous years. Several of those selected have served as mentors for WD&E programs, including Jessica Granderson, Barbara Jacak, Liana Klivansky, Lavanya Ramakrishnan, Mary Scott, and Junko Yano.
She was honored at a virtual W@TL event on March 30th. In a separate interview, Flood answered several questions about her experiences as a leader at Berkeley Lab. She encouraged the audience to: “Approach your work as your authentic self, leveraging your strengths and being self aware of your limitations, you will find your tribe and your purpose–trust the process and have faith in you!”
