
The National Nuclear Security Administration Impact Internship Program (NNSA-IMPACT) provides funding to promote the education and development of the next generation of scientists and other professionals to meet current and future mission needs of the NNSA by providing an enhanced training environment that exposes participants to challenges unique to the NNSA mission.
NNSA-IMPACT offers summer internship opportunities with the NNSA at Berkeley Lab. Internships involve projects focused on degrees in critical science, engineering, technology, mathematics, and other disciplines that complement current and future missions of the NNSA. IMPACT interns are fully funded by the NNSA. The program provides in-person opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students of all academic disciplines. In addition, the program also provides:
- Stipends
- $750/ week for Undergraduate Students
- $950/week Graduate Students
- Housing supplements (In-person)
- Commuting supplements (In-person)
- Travel to and from the hosting site at the beginning of the appointment (In-person)
- Travel/training funds
