Cooperative Student Housing

An application and application fee of $25 is required along with a security deposit of $250.00 which is refundable based on condition of room.
Cooperative Student Housing offers furnished rooms in houses or apartments. Not all co-ops offer food services over the summer. Work shifts range from 2 to 8 hours each week. We expect the full summer contract period to be May 25th – August 14, however there is some flexibility for students who arrive later than the contract start date.
Price Range: $409 – $899.00 per month
“Greeks”
A lot of fraternities open up their houses to co-ed renters in the summer months and this can be a great opportunity for reasonably priced housing and can also be a good way to meet people. Be aware that conditions and cleanliness can vary A LOT from house to house. We recommend contacting them and asking them frankly about what to expect in terms of living conditions and cleanliness. Most of the summer housing coordinators should be pretty up front about what to expect.
If you are interested in a fraternity or sorority as a housing option, please contact the LEAD Center (lead@berkeley.edu ). The LEAD Center will work with you to find chapters that meet your housing specifications. Tau House is one of the many Greek organizations at Berkeley that offer housing during the summer.
