About this event
SAGE-S (Science Accelerating Girls' Engagement in STEM) is a one week long summer camp for public high school students. The program allows scientists, engineers, and staff to share what everyday life in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) profession is like. Originally hosted at SLAC National Lab in 2018, the camp has expanded to several national labs in its fourth year.
Monday, Aug. 2 | 2–3 p.m. PDT
Lawrence^2 : Two Lawrences Are Better Than One
Hosted by Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories
Join us for an informal science fire talks, trivia, and all things STEM with Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs. In three minutes or less, learn about some of the innovative STEM taking place and vote to give your opinion on the audience’s favorite research topic.
Tuesday, Aug. 3 | 3:30–5 p.m. PDT
Star Gazing Party in the Middle of the Day?
Hosted by SLAC National Laboratory in partnership with Slooh
See stars and constellations mid-afternoon from the comfort of your desk or home office. Last year we saw Jupiter, Sombrero Galaxy, Saturn, and the comet Neowise through a live connection to powerful telescopes in the Canary Islands. What will we see this year?

Ensuring a Safe and Sustainable Future
Hosted by Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories
Have you ever been to the beautiful state of New Mexico? Known as the land of enchantment due to its spectacular desert and mountain landscapes, New Mexico has a vibrant mix of geography and culture. The national laboratories in New Mexico are working on solutions related to national security, global security, environmental management, public health, and more. At these labs, you can find incredible opportunities to work on things you never would have imagined. Spend an afternoon getting a peak behind the scenes.
Thursday, Aug. 5 | 2–3 p.m. PDT
Underground Lairs and Cool Toys
Hosted by Fermi National Accelerator and Oak Ridge National Laboratory
From solving the mysteries of matter, energy, space, and time to applying one’s expertise in advanced materials, supercomputing, neutrons, and nuclear science, these Labs have the keys to solving the world's next biggest problems. Come get a closer look at the tunnels and spaces that lead to solutions in Illinois and Tennessee.
